Hello Ladies and Gents!
Fernelli here! I said I want to do a video but I cannot, my camera has died on me. And I will be talking about some product but I am not swatching. If I do that, this is going to take me a long ass time. And my main point is about products that I want to hit pan on, I will do a quick review but I am not doing a full on review. And also, I may say that a certain product is good 3 years ago, but I may have different view now. I will be much more critical on how these product performs. I have enough make-up to know what is actually good and understand the expectations of Make up consumers in general. Last time for me, if it has pigment and can be used, I am good. Now with so many products in the market, I have to be more critical and provide more details so that those who read our humble little blog can make informed and smart shopping decisions.
If you have seen my last post, I was talking about Make-Up addiction and how it has now become a heavy burden on me. I have listed a few solutions this is one of them: Use up products that are finishing. And i will realise that i have too much!
Yes, I need to finish up what I have before I buy new shit. This is where project panning comes in. Basically, what project panning means is to keep on using old make up products until it hits pan. The purpose of this is to: 1) Give more love to products you hardly reach for. 2) Make sure that you get your money’s worth by finishing up what you have. 3) For you to realise that you already have a good product on hand and there is no need to buy new ones.
Here are some of the products I plan to hit pan!
- Too-faced Chocolate Bar palette
- First and foremost, this is a good palette in general. Not the best in the market but it performs well.
- Most of the colors, blended really seamlessly ( despite it being almost 4 years old!) and is very easy to build up. Especially two base colors, the transition color at the second row, extreme left. As well as the gold and campaign pink color on the second column. I cannot be bothered to find the color lol.
- There are so many variety of colors and so many looks can be done with this. If I wanna do a full-glam smokey eyes for someone’s wedding, I can. If I happen to wear a fun outfit for girls night out, I can create a look too. If I wanna do a office-friendly look, I can too! There are so many possibilities and options!
- Smells like chocolate
- The package is super adorable
Cons:
- This is expensive as hell, so I better use it up.
- There are some matte shades which are patchy.
- I find that all of the the glittery colors to be extremely chunky and have fall-outs. They need more time to blend and build up. Beware of fall-outs!

I used to use this every day! Until I got newer palettes and grew tired of this one. When I start using it again, I remember why this is such a staple! All the shadows that I have mentioned that were good ( except the 2 large shadows) are very, very near to hitting pan. Even though the colors that I mentioned were not as good, I still use them. I am always at work most of the time so I will get use out of this. I can use this every day actually. Plus, the pans are small, it should be easy to use up.
2) 1028 Macaron Eyeshadow Kit
Pros:
- The colors blend very well and so creamy. Except for that glitter color at the bottom right!
- The colors compliment very well and it is so easy to pair the shadows. I can quickly think of what looks to do on the spot.
- The pans are huge, very worth the money.
- And… it is not expensive. I think I got this at 20 plus dollars at Watsons.
- The packaging is very sturdy and cute. Great for traveling
Cons:
- There are no mattes shades for a more completed look. Unless you are going for the asian style make up which needs no transition shades. Which I don’t really mind. I don’t go full out glam most of the time. For most days, I just put on 2 glittery eyeshadow and mascara for my eye make up.
- The color at the bottom right is very chunky and glittery. It produces fall out so beware!
If you like, I actually did a review on this!

The pans are humongous! I used to use this every day too so there is a dent in each shadows. That is amazing feat given how big the pan is. I used this and I remember why I loved this so much! Why do I need 10 more neutral palette when I have good ones that were untouched in my stash? I could have panned this if I wasn’t distracted by other new buys. This is a great palette ! I must sound really ambitious saying this, but I plan to at least pan this by the end of the year!
3. Tartelette Palette by Tarte
Pros:- It is an all-matte shade. You need at least one matte shade in your stash to pair with single sparkly shadows or all sparkly palette ( like the 1028 one!)
- Because of the matte texture, it produces very soft look! Really suitable for work and days where you want to look demure, or pretend to be.
- The colors are very pigmented
- And this is so user friendly. The 3 columns are placed in a very organised way: in each column you have a base color, a transition shade, one for deepening in the outer corner and the darkest color for accent or eyeliner. The first column is for a warm neutral look, the second column is to create this purplish, cool toned eye look and the last column is used to create a cool tone, neutral eyeshadow look.
- One look at the palette you know what to do with it.
- These are very soft shadows and creamy to touch
Cons:
- The shadows do not blend well and is very patchy. I am surprised though since these are so creamy to the touch.
- You need a lot of effort and time to get these to blend seamlessly
- The packaging is a fingerprint magnet.

I always reach out for this because it is easy to use and easy to pair up with other shadows. BUT, It is tough for me to get these to blend seriously. But I am not that particular, as long as the shadows are reasonably blended, I am happy to leave it as that. Besides, I got my soft eyeshadow look so it is okay and I don’t think that I look that bad. But It will be a problem for people who want that fully-blended and seamless look. I am hitting pan soon on the shade “force of nature”. If I were to use this often, it is easy to hit pan.
That is it! I want to update you by January 2019 and we will see how this goes! I want to finish up old palette before I buy new ones so I need to show some love to my old palettes! Also I have got some product that I want to finish up too! Will do a seperate empties post!
That is it! I hope you enjoy the post and my dusty palettes! Good night and have a great weekend.
With Love,
Fernelli
